Seen in a chart

This is how a note I received from a neurosurgeon ended. Thanks, guys, that really helps.

Brain: Brain is not available for this doctor.

Well...writing an impression and plan isn't brain surgery...

so there's that.

And I suppose Medicare paid for this wonderful consult, the results of which are available only to the consulting neurosurgeon, and therefore of no use to the treatment team - or the patient in the bed!!

almost as good as one I recently came across from an ER doc: "patient was probably seen by me."

One can only assume this means he has no idea what is wrong with the patient and doesn't even want to guess, and thus, he has no idea to treat the mystery illness...

I wonder if it's a moronic EHR error, rather than a doc error.

He found the patient totally unimpressive and made no further plans. I'm sure you met some women like that back in your dating days.

At least 20% of the notes I get from the ER look like that. Makes me nuts.

So now you have to spend even more money to upgrade to a patient who has these features available?
